coloration means little for IDing a scorpionfish, I would suggest you look for other identifying features
what does the underside of its pec fins look like any tassles or ornate frills that are not in the picture
S Michaels book "reef fish vol!" is a pretty good picture guide for Scorpionfish

I've seen them before as a stonefish, but I'm not sure exactly the species.
Scorpaenopsis gibbosa possibly? Tough one.

its not a stonefish, S gibba is as good a guess as any. My guess was S Macrohir
when you say "any clue", what you mean is to tell us are there any additional identifying features that may help us ID this fish

The aquarium I work at has a few identical to these in the "Venemous Fishes" display. I'm not sure on the exact species, all I know is "stonefish." I'm heading there next saturday, so I'll ask for ya. :)
