I just purchased a float and ASO valve. and was trying to figure out how to hook it up when I came across some info about needing a check valve. Do I need this for my RO/DI?
I just checked out BFS website to see if it said anything about needing the check valve and it does, I guess when I purchased my ASO valve last week I did not notice it this sucks I just ordered form BFS last week.

Furthermore I replaced my carbon block with the Matrikx® 1 Chlorine Guzzler that your site sells. I noticed that the Matrik®1 is very light compared to my old carbon block. Is there a quality concern here V.S. my old one or not?

thanks,

Ryan

Hi Ryan - yes your ASO valve needs to be teamed with a check valve. The check valve goes between the permeate (purified water) port and the low pressure "in" port on the ASO valve.

I suspect what you were compareing was a wet carbon block to a new, dry one. The difference in weight is water. I doubt very much your last carbon block was even close to the Chlorine Guzzler. The Guzzler has a pore size of 0.6 microns, and it has a VERY high capacity to adsorb chlorine (20,000 gallons or chlorinated tap water).

I didn't think about the weight of the water Oh well...looks like i'll have to think of more stuff to buy so I can order the check valve.

Thanks,

Ryan

If you just want the check valve we'd send it regular US Mail - shipping would be very cheap.
