Ok I have a 37 gallon with 40lbs live sand and I'm recieving 30lbs of cured caribbean live rock on monday. I have an eclipse3 hood( which I know now everyone says sucks, I guess) and a 900 power head, the lighting is 40w total so about 1w per gallon. I know I will have to cure the rock for a couple of weeks even though it is 80% done but does the lighting matter for the rock... I'm looking to upgrade the lighting to 250 watts... If anyone knows where I can get a 30" 250w light for less than $200 let me know... I think the eclipse3 is going to get overloaded anyways by everything I want to do... Any Help or Ideas??

check out t5 lighting. long lasting, relatively inexpensive, good color spectrums avail. some have successfully kept SPS, clams etc under them. any marine hobby website should have them.

I want clams and anemones as well as 8-10 small fish. Cleaner shrimp, hermit crabs, snails, scallops. Overload?

And with your wanting to keep you might want to think about some MH's.1 250 and a couple t-5's ought to do it.

Yeah, I really want a 250w MH. But its hard to find one that's 30".. I'm not closed minded to hanging a 24" but I would rather have a 30" with legs... I can only spend $200 or less...

What about the Eclipse3 system too? Should I scrap it?
