ive just picked up a new 60 gallon visio glass after years and years away from reefkeeping. i feel like im starting all over again since its been so long. im not planning on this being a reef. just a FOWLR. all ive got for the tank are an aquaclear 110 hang on and a single strip 50/50 light. im using live sand. synthetic salt and will be adding live rock soon. i need some help with stocking the tank. my plans thus far include 4-6 tank raised clowns, juvenile blue tang, yellow tang and a clean up crew.

what else should i consider adding or alternatives ? will the AC110 be sufficient for what i have planned ?

thanks in advance

60 gallon is not really big enough for 1 tang, they need lots of room to swim around, definitely not big enough for two.

I think that if you start with small tangs , you will be fine. You might think about some smaller goby's......like a yellow watchman, of engineer goby. What about dwarf angels, like coral beauty? You have mild fish picked out, so the options are endless. If I were you, I would concider to keep things reef safe. Just getting back into the hobby, your plans down the road might change.......

thanks for the help. what about the AC110 filter ? is this sufficient for the bio-load i have planned ? if not, i may add a canister filter.

Skimmers are a pretty vital piece of equipment for marine tanks. It is doable without one, but you will have to do a lot more water changes to keep the same low levels as you would with one.

I agree that the tangs should not be in there. The yellow tang may do fine, but definitely not the regal. Regal tangs can get up to 10 inches and are very active, needing at least six feet of swimming room.
