Disposing of old tank (what to do?)

As my other thread alluded to, My tank has gone to crap after a crash, and I need to dispose of the contents. For the live sand (~5 years old) is it cool to just dump it in the woods? I know how it's not good to release wildlife into new environments, but I figure since i'll just be dumping saltwater critters into dirt, it won't harm anything.

Just wanted to double check.

if you're concerned about it I know that people have dug holes then threw rock/sand whatever into it.

Just kick it around a bit so that it doesn't sit in a pile, and it'll be fine.

Just don't dump it anywhere near where you'll be frequenting. I dumped some sand once in the yard, and it still to this day never fully disappeared!
