View Full Version : Have velvet and something else- please help ID

ON top of velvet that I am treating with copper, it sure looks like there is something else that is bothering the fish. It's kind of like pimples for fish, and then at other places it looks worse.

These look like bacterial infections. Treat with antibiotics like Furan2 or Maracyn2.

The parts on the bodies that your have pointed at are not velvet, but likely bacterial infection.

The quality of the pictures are not good enough to judge for velvet elsewhere on the body, however. The behavior of the fish can tell.

OK thanks. I can't get those particular products here as there are not any decent aquarium shops. If I know the name of the actual antibiotic I might be able to find it at a vet.

wooden_reefer, the velvet has been an ongoing treatment for the last 10 days of copper, so that's why I did not take pics of the velvet.

Anyone know the active ingredients in these two products ,Furan2 or Maracyn2, and how much I would need for 2100 gallons? I will go to my local vet if anyone h some answers.
