I have a 38g that I would like to make into a sump. Dimensions are 36x20x12. I would like to incorporate a refugium, skimmer (8"x8.5") and 2 - Quiet One 4000 pumps. I DO NOT want to drill the sump. (Brand new sump cracked from bulkhead fitting)
If you are good at figuring these things out. Let's see/hear your ideas...

You can get fairly cheap cutouts from a plastics provider nearest you cut to how you want. Make sure the dividers are cut to the interior width etc.. and you can use aquariumsafe silicone for it.

That shows you how to suspend the dividers for your diy sump/fuge.

I have been reading all of this guy's stuff....looks amazing, great instruction, pics and detail. He has many plans for all types of sumps as well as overflow boxes, auto top offs and a ton more.

The second link by Scoobaman17 is my 210g build. I have built a 30g into a sump, the baffle spacing is completely customizable for your skimmer. The bubble traps should be 1.5 to 2 inches apart. You will have to figure how much water is drained by your over flow to figure how high your baffles are going to be.
Good luck,
