Please ID Friend or Foe

I have these things growing in my tank I was hoping someone could identify them. The are not soft and are attached to my rock and are popping up everywhere.

Hard to tell exactly from the pic but I think they look like red valonia. They can be very prolfic and spread throughout your tank. Treat just like any other valonia (Bubble algae).

Yep they appear to be red bubble alge clusters. I have them too. On one rock it got pretty bad so i took the rock out and scraped it all off, only to have it return.

Are the red valonia as nasty as the green one?

they were pretty easy to get off, i guess I will be fighting them from now on

Yeah they might come back, hard to get rid of.
