feather duster split?

hey guys, i have a feather duster which seems to be two comming out of the same tube. is this just the way it is, or do i have two in the same tube wrapping? or is this how they reproduce?

just found a pic on google which says "split crown feather duster" thsi looks very close to mine...guess it's just the type of species
