I still haven't hooked up my RKII to my computer yet. I am going to run 100' maybe a little less of the RJ-11 6 Wire phone cord. I need to crimp on the ends on both ends. How do I make sure the wire are correct. The cable I saw was round no flat. I know they are color coordinated so do I just make sure both ends have the exact color order?
I just wanted to be sure before I bought it and crimped the ends.

50' is the max suggest length, you may want to reconsider other methods

100' wont work (most likely...) you may think about some of the wireless (bluetooth) options that people have posted about if you need that kind of set up.

What is the max length that you would suggest then. I might be able to get it to under 70'.

One more thing that wasn't answered. I think I have a way of cutting the corner so I use less cable. If I look at the small 6" cable that came with my splitter from DA If you put the ends together side by side the wires are in the same order.
Green, Yellow, Red, White, Blue, Black. The second one is exact. My cable I have has
Green, Red, Gray, White, Blue, Black. If I crimp the first one in that order then the second one gets crimped exactly like the first correct?

I just ran the line. I am just about 50'. I was reroute to get the cable shorter. So my question above is the only thing I have left to do.

I believe it is, because some people had cables that were crossovers and caused them to have issues. I guess you could always give yourself an extra 6" and give it a try =)

Well I did it and I think I used about 56' total. It works.
Now I just need to play with Myreef. Thanks for the help.
