I have read all the horror stories on RC and Nanoreef about bad experiences with Glass Cages, but they have a tank I want. I am looking for a 16" cube. I emailed Glass Cages and they would build me one for ~$100. My LFS can get one for ~$250 and MyFishtank.com wants over $300!!
Does anyone have anything good to report??
Rick

I bought a standard 65 gallon acrylic tank from them shipped ups and it's been up for 2 years now. It's a fresh water tank but I haven't had any problems with it.

They are cheap for a reason.

I can't imagine them messing up a 16" cube. My brother-in-law has a 135g that he bought from them 6 months ago. They were a little sloppy on the silicone and they have a weird way of bracing the tank by gluing pieces of glass to the bottom of the glass. Other than that it hasn't cracked or leaked. I did urge him to buy an AGA or Oceanic but he just didn't want to spend the money. I have read the horror stories too, but 20 gallons of water on the floor isn't too bad to risk. Good Luck

Thanks for the replies.
I think think a little cube would be so nice on my desk next to my computer, but even 20 gallons would be a mess.
Glass Cages only warranties their tanks 90 days. I am still rearranging the rocks at 90 days. :)

for $100, the risk isn't too bad.

but just like almost everything else in this hobby, you get what you pay for

I cannot comment on Glass Cages but, I can warn you about buying from the lowest bidder.

have you looked into an acylic cube.you can make one for less than the price you stated if you can get the sheet locally.most plastics shops would have the sizes you need most likely laying around as drop pieces.i have a 16" cube next to my computer and its great,i made it from 3/8" thick.

I think as long as you know what you want and order it you shouldn't have any problems.

Where people get into trouble is asking a bunch of questions and not knowing exactly what they want when they call. He's very busy and doesn't have time for handholding.

I live near Glass Cages and have been to the farm to see Tom a few times. He's always been nice to me and shown me around. I call it a farm because he has a brigade of weiner dogs and other things like a llama or two.

Love my tank. Can't beat the price. Flawless transaction. I didn't even look on RC before I bought. I just checked the numerous positive ebay feedbacks.

Thanks.
I ordered a modified tank from AGA--an overflow put in a tank that isn't normally available with an overflow--and they put it in the wrong place.
For $100 I will probably give Glass Cages a try.
