I posted this in the Reef Discussion thread but it gets buried, I should have posted it here. Here is my situation. This may be difficult, but I am looking to add one more fish to my 55g reef. I currrently have a Vanuatu Mystery Wrasse, Vanuatu Starki Damsel, Blue Streak Cleaner Wrasse ( 3yr), Geo. Pyg. Hawk (P. Inermis), and Pseudo. Elongatus. What fish, based on your experience, would be a good addition? Looking for color and reef safe selections. Thanks Mile.

What's the size/temperament of the mystery wrasse?

SD, always good to hear from ya, He is about 3.5 inches and is peaceful towards his current tankmates.

Sounds like you have a nice selection of fish in your tank.
That's kind of a hard question. Clownfish of any interest to you? I like my orange spotted blenny - kind of similar to lawnmower, but nicer looking IMO. Also, one of the larger watchmen gobies may work as well - yellow or pink spot maybe.

I was thinking midas blenny. Again though, I have no experience with mystery wrasses. They don't look terribly friendly though....

SD, Mystery wrasse can be problematic, but like most fish, it depends on the individual. I had a sweet deal on mine and couldn't pass it up.
techgirl78- I like clowns but would not want to put them in this tank because I will not be adding an anemone for them. I know they can live without it, but its more dramatic with it and natural looking. Nem's tend to wander and I dont want one to encroach upon my SPS and LPS. If I do decide to get clowns it would be for a dedicated tank. Ideal would be Latezonatus pair with their natural host.

What about a Dwarf Fuzzy Lionfish? They stay small, are very unique and peaceful, and are decently safe. I personally love mine. They have small mouths compared to other lionfishes and as long as they are fed on a decent schedule they probabaly wont bother things (like small snails or hermits) in your tank.

Did I mention they are also extremely hardy?

Corndork2, Fuzzy Dwarf Lion are not to reef safe, let alone fish safe for what I currently stock, but thank you.

thor, I agree with your choice, but I'm afraid they may get harassed by the Mystery or Starcki. I had a Helfrichi that lasted 3 days before something got to it. Talk about a sad day. It was before both fish. I think it was the gorilla crab I found right after its demise. I took revenge on his A**.
