Alk still too high

Ok, So for the past month i have been battling alk. issues. Everytime I check it is way too high. What can I do? I have done weekly water chages of 10% and have changed all filter medias every week too. any ideas?

stop supplementing it and it'll drop. also check your salt mix, if it's to high water changes aren't helping.

What is the alk reading?

The most common cause of this problem is the use of pH buffers, which are just high-pH alkalinity supplements. What's being dosed into the tank? How does freshly-mixed saltwater measure up?

if you aren't using buffers or supplements, your test kit is off. Personally that is what i'm betting on. Especially if it is one of the older salifert kits. most people have problems keeping their alk high enough, not trying to lower it.
