I just hooked up my first external pump - Iwaki RXT30. Anyhow, It has a moderate hum to it. It is a used pump. Second, the pump itself feels warm to touch. Not so hot that it burns your hand, but warm enough that it would melt plastic if it was directly touching it for an extended period of time. Is this normal? I don't want to keep running this thing if it is going to burn my house down.

the md-30rz that I previously used got so hot you couldn't hold your hand on it.

As the 30's aren't fan cooled, so the casing gets fairly hot.

OK, now I can go to bed. I just wanted to double check with someone who had used one. Mine isn't fan cooled and I can hold my hand on it about 5 seconds before it really gets too hot to touch.
