Why do I constantly keep getting this brown algea in my tank? My phospate levels are excellent. Is there a chemical that I should be using that controls this. My lights are new also.

I done RO water changes, 5 gallons every other day on my 120, and started running Phosban and carbon. No algea of any color now.

it's a diatom bloom, its a normal occurance with fairly new saltwater tanks. they can happen on and off for about a year or so. Just keep up with water changes and it should die out eventually.

If your tank is in his early age then it's quite normal. Just give it some time and it will go away.

Just time as your numbers will be better. Don't hurry anything as patience is the key.

My tank's about 2 months old and I had one and it went away, now it's trying to come back since I started using Kent Zoo-plex to feed the corals. I'm laying off it a while and just target feeding my sun corals and doing some more water changes. Also try some Phosban. That really helped me alot. Stuff is a blessing.
