I've seen pictures of someone on here with some gorgeous Mille's, particularly a yellow one. I've performed a search and manually searched for awhile now and can't seem to find it. Anyone know who it is or have a link to his pictures?? Thanks!
tom

Jax,
I'm tired of seeing your tank! It makes me want to toss mine in the dumpster.

Link me to a thread where you have discussed your husbandry and supplimentation.

Thats exactly what the tissue on mine looks like but I can't take pics like daddy and my camera isn't near as nice, but I will join in.

If you turkey baste it the polyps retract and it looks like the yellowish peach that daddy's shows. His polyps are somewhat retracted for a millepora. Oh and FWIW you probably wont find an inherently yellow millie..it will be the conditions and environment that determine it being yellow.

do you not talk about your husbandry?

DaddyJax

Sure thing! I have talked about lots on several different post.

It is real simple. I change my filter socks once a week and also do a WC 15% once a week and blast the rocks once a month or so.
I run BB tanks with lots of Fiji rock and I have lots of planktavore fish such as Anthias and Chromis. I feed 1-2 times a day Mysis and every once in a while I will feed Cyclopeze.

I dose Randy's 2 part and use oversized Euroreef skimmers.
Thats it!

Some people just have a green thumb when growing things, in water and out. You're obviously one of them as you are having great success with a simple system. I'm not there yet but at least seeing pics of yours gives me something to shoot for. Keep posting pics and I'll keep dreaming and working at getting there.:D :D :D

Planktivore fish as in ones that mostly eat plankton? Wonder what contributes to colors in that equation?

Thanks for the info!
I also change my filter socks once per week and feed mysis. Strangely I used to feed mostly nori (two tangs) and some msyis but have since switched to mostly mysis and once a week nori and have seen nice color improvements. I also dose Randy's two part via Aquamedic style parastalic pump and have a Euroreef skimmer.

Man I hope I can get in the same neighborhood as you Jax.

Yes DaddyJax, you are the one! I love that picture and the colorw on that Mille, I just couldn't for the life of me remember your name! I want to see if anyone in our club has a piece like yours. May I ask where you got it from? Thanks a bunch!

I actually got it from a local. He said it was an Nathan's green milli and it was green when I first got a frag of it and it grew like crazy! But It changed to yellow very quickly when I put it high in the tank.

Cham, I have noticed that whenever I put nori in my tank for the few tangs I have they don't pay it much attention and it seems to not do my tank well as far as color and my filtration is a little heavier. I stopped using it around 9 months ago all together because of this.

I just noticed the exact same thing. My tank looks so much better and healthier now that I've cut way back on it. There is less algea on my rocks and my colors are improving. I even run a phosban reactor (I know you don't).

I still want to put a little of it in each week or so to make sure my tangs and blenny are getting what they need. My bartletts also love eating it and I've heard of anthias getting "lock jaw" or something like that if they don't ever get any veggies.

You know.

I'm seriously thinking about getting an angel. Although I enjoy and have lots of PE, for the most part there is rarely any color brought to the party by the polyps and less PE could possibly bring more color to the tank (as long as the fish doesn't go crazy).

Maybe a small flame angel.

Any feedback on this, slow down growth rates or anything like that?

I am very interested in hearing this method. If you or Jason don't mind posting the method in detail or a link to it that would be AWESOME.

He certianly has some things figured out.

It is Nathan's green milli. My pic just sucks but is the same exact color. I have lots of this millepora. The ones up high turn yellowish and the ones down low get that hunter green color. Definitely nathan's green millie! It can range from peachy yellow, yellow, lime green to dark hunter green depending on the environment it is placed in.:D

Those are some sweet yellows. This picture doesn't do mine justice as it isn't as green as it shows here. Mine is more of a Hi-Liter yellow with greenish polyps.
