Where in relation to 400 W Metal Halide lamps should these corals be placed? Any special considerations of light spectrum? Thanks in advance.

snorvich,

Thank you for your post. All of our SPS Corals at our Aquacultured Coral and Marine Life Facility are kept between 10 and 16 inches below the Metal Halide Fixtures. The bulbs in the fixtures are 20K. These beautiful deep-water corals have been light acclimated in our system and do not require any additional care.

Do you have these under 400 or 250? Are the deep water corals kept towards the 16" lower limit? Thanks in advance.

Steve,

The Diver’s Den deep-water corals are kept 10” to 16” under 20K 400-Watt Metal Halide lighting.
