Russ,

Ok, I have been using the pressure pump now for over a month and am very happy with what it does for me. I get slightly higher rejection from the RO membrane and I get much higher volume production; I measured 180gpd. My question is in regards to the pressure switch on your site. As of right now, I have to go through a sequence for turning things on.

1. Open main supply valve to RO unit
2. Open RO or RO/DI outlet valve
3. Plug in pressure pump

I have to reverse this when shutting down. As you can probably imagine, plugging and unplugging the pump every single time I make water is getting rather old. Can you explain how the pressure switch works. I am hoping to be able to get out of having to plug and unplug the pump. I don't mind opening and closing valves. Obviously, I do not want the pump to turn on when the pressure is zero.

Thanks!!

The pressure switch has a quick connect in, and out fitting (we have 1/4" or 3/8" fitting for this). This switch is placed in-line in the low pressure line (in your case the DI output line). When the pressure in that line reaches about 40 psi the switch will shut the pump off. When the pressure drops to about 25 psi the switch will turn the pump on.

Unfortunately, the standard 4-port ASOVs will not work well with the 150 gpd capacity systems, so if you'd like flow to the system to be controlled automatically you'd need an electronic shut off switch. Please call 513-312-2343 if that's the case and we can talk through the configuration if you want to go with this sort of switch.
