What size hole is better for the drain of a 29g? 1" or 1.5"?

Also how far from the edge of the glass should the center of the hole be?

depends on flow. There is a calculator on the main page to help you estimate.

okay but whats good to reduce noise of drainage and also will a 1" hole be at risk of clog of small particles compared to a 1.5"

i'd go with 1.5 if you have a choice.. more flexibility that way.

bigger hole = more water....

but isnt it true that bigger hole means louder noise. And doesn't it all depend on how fast the return pump is pumping water, when considering how much water goes down the drain.

1" is rated for 600 gph. 1.5" is about twice that I think. I am not sure about noise.

I dont really care about the gph...it's more about the noise.
