I'm running a 250W Phoenix 14k DE off of a Icecap ballast, (2) aquablue T5's, (1) aquasun T5 and (1) Super actinic (all 54W) on my 90G. The whole setup is too blue for my liking. Can anyone suggest a T5 bulb(s) that would offset the blueness a bit? I'm sticking with the Phoenix until it needs replacement.

how bout replacing the super actinic with a blue plus or actinic plus, and one aquablue with a 3000k ge bulb

You have a blue color MH along with 3 out of 4 blue colored T5's. Get rid of the Super Actinic and one of the Aquablues for something a bit whiter.

Thanks...I realize I'm on the blue end of the spectrum, I was looking for advice on examples of bulbs to use.

i would not recommend the 3000k bulb after trying it myself with two 14k phoenix, 1 blue plus, 1 actinic plus, 1 super actinic, and one 3000k. The 3000k bulb is really orange. I would try the GE 6500k bulb.

I'd agree with octo with the 65ge, i'd replace the blue plus

Gotcha. Thanks for the input. I'll ditch the blueplus for another aquasun. That's a 6500k also, right?

Did you swap out the t5 yet? I'll soon be running a single 250 w/ 2 t5's. I can't decide on the lighting yet myself. Just curious to see how it worked for you.

Not yet. I'm still a ways from firing it up full time. My rock is curing in a trash can and tank is now empty.
