I have a 30 gallon tank with 20 lbs of lalo live rock thats been up and running for about 2 years the fish that i had in there decided to commit suicide and jump out of the tank when i accidentally left the lid open.
So long story short it took me 3 months to find a Peacock mantis to put in the tank. My question is does anyone else out there have a mantis if so could you suggest a good diet for him besides expensive crabs and snails???

Bring this over to the mantis forum (Almost everyone there is a mantis keeper or was one) and we can answer this pretty well. But first congrats on putting it in an apporpriate sized tank. Seems every new guy wants to keep a 6" peacock in a 6 gallon lol. Anyways they will almost always eat frozen meaty foods such as shrimp, mysis, clam, silversides, squid etc. I would recommend feeding once every 2-3 days and soaking in selcon or a similar substance once a week. DOn't dose iodine BTW. And feed live hard shelled food once a month or preferably more to keep the rapts in shape.
