I am working on aquascaping my tank, this will be my first attempt so I want things to be solid and appealing. I plan on using pvc pipe for a base structure, and then hopefully just "zap" strap/tie wrap the LR too it.
One question I have is are there actually holes in LR that I will be able to stick tie wraps through, or will I need to break out the drill and/or epoxy glue??

all depends on the piece of live rock... i have some pieces that have some holes while others do not. If not you can drill holes, it will not harm anything on the rock
I drilled holes in my live rock and slid it over the PVC.

the holes depend on the LR but you could also make your own

i have no experience with aquascaping but i read that people use acrylic rods instead of pvc so its less noticable. just a suggestion...

i personal use acrylic rod instead of pvc. it harder for you to notice the rod than the big pvc even though as time pass they will all be cover with coraline.
Plus acryllic rob is smaller so u dont have to drill the big hole on the rock risking breaking them
