Hi

Does anyone have the instructions to setup a Korallin Biodenitrator 1501 denitrator? I bought one used and I can't figure out all the pieces and need to know about flow rates etc.

Also, what is the cheapest and effective media I can use in it? I know it needs almost pure sulphur and some form of crushed coral for PH buffering.

This will be used on a 55 Gallon and the hope is to reduce the amount of water changes and restrict unwanted algae.

Any pointers are helpful.

run it for 24 hrs with full flow through the reactor, then reduce it to 1 drip every second, test the NO3 in the output and when it hits zero increase the drip to 2 drips per second and test again, keep increasing it daily till you get max flow with no NO3, if you have the drip to slow you get hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell) and the inside of the reactor will be cloudy, it should remain clear as long as the drip isn't too slow. I've got mine at 50 ml/min roughly and it's been fully matured a good while, it keeps the tank at undetectable levels with a PinPoint NO3 monitor.

Is hydrogen sulphide neutral in a reef setup or does itt have negative effects?

Thanks!

Anyone found a source for sulphur that would work well in a reactor? The price of this stuff is nuts.
