I'm thinking of ordering some ORA's from F&S and would like to see what some of the different ones look like in your tanks. I would especially like to see some colonies. Thanks!

ORA's are great corals...I do not have any pics of mine, but I can tell you they old thier color very well in the captive environment...If you look around you can find much better prices then the drs.

I just ordered the German Blue Polyp Digi. The frag was huge compared to the Non-ORA frags. It was the exact same color as the picture I ordered it from.

13 branches and 4 inches long

My avatar is an ORA Chips acro. :)

It changed to this unique color shortly after aquiring it as a frag, and has kept the look for about a year and a half as it grew into a colony.

Yes it is. I believe I got it at the beginning of the year. I only saw it at my lfs store once and they order a lot from them so I'm not sure it may be something they don't have available often. However I do know a few other people in the San Diego area have them. I'm not sure if they got it when I did or not.

When you get them they are like inch and a half of frag. I had a prodibio disaster about 4-6 months back which ruined a couple of frags but managed to get frags of most so they are just growing back. The german blue polyp I have 3 peices of now but that is the original base that I got growth growing off of. Also the tort was fragged of dead and thats what is left. With the exception of one branch I accidently broke off last week and I have the other frag to in a different spot. The green milli did the best. Nothing happened to it. The pocci might be. Cant remember. That is 2 colonies now. As you can tell I love the ora frags.lol.

yes, very few available.....the bali deepwater is actually a suharsonoi (sp?) species according to an ORA source.

live aquaria had a very expensive frag of it for sale online the other day, but its gone now. i think it was like $130 for about an inch.

here are some pics of it:
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1135789&highlight=ORA+deepwater

they are only releasing a very few of these to the places with the largest accounts with ORA.

along with the bali deepwater, they are releasing some others too i believe.....one being some sort of echinata, no clue what the others are other than they are of the "deep water" variety....and will be very hard to find for quite a while since this is going to be a limited edition release.

btw...how in the world did you get the GBP to grow so fast? (actually, i'm guessing you got it a year or two ago the same time you got the deepwater)

thats by far the largest GBP frag/colony i've ever seen posted yet!!

my GBP is starting to turn a lighter green, almost yellow. i'm beating it with light at the very top from my 250w radium on HQI. i'm thinking about lowering it back down to get more of the rich green back.
