I haven't read Mr. Borenmans book so I'll have to check it out the next time I'm in my LFS. I have seen many many elegance corals over the years, but have never seen a black one. The brown color from the algae can be very dark, though. Every elegance I have seen have been shades of brown mixed with shades of green, in different patterns. The only other colors I have seen are on the tips of their tentacles. This can be white, yellow, green, pink, or a blueish purple color.

That blue and black elegance is amazing. There's probably a handful of them in the world.
