[welcome]

A lot of use (including me) like running GFO for PO4 removal. I personally use Warner Marine's PhoSar in a canister filter. Works great for me.

Here is a great article on GFO's

Iron Oxide Hydroxide (GFO)

Hey,
I have another thread going (alkalinity and phosphate issues) and I'm leaning towards the cannister filter Phosar that Billbeau is mentioning. I might purchase the High Capacity Phosar cause my phosphate problem is pretty bad right now.

Will the Phosar be as effective in a micron bag in my sump??

The best thing would be, is to use a phosphate reactor.

Sorry Perc, when you say the BEST thing, you should choose your words carefully.

Some think using a GFO in a canister filter is the BEST thing.

One should consider tank size, PO4 problem, water flow etc.

Most GFO's work equally as well in a number of media situations. Reactors, Canisters, bag in the sump etc.

Kinda like what salt mix is best. :D Don't get me started :)

Monster - I'm going with the bag in sump because of space constraints and plumbing issues associated with a reactor. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm probably going to be installing it this week!
good luck
