I have a green polyp leather toadstool that has gotten a white area (bleached) it has been there for awhile and now it has a hole through it. I ask one lfs about it and he told me it was lack of water flow and some detritus might have gotten on it and to give it more water flow on it. I felt like it was getting enough flow because all the polyp was swaying in the current. The other lfs told me that it could be parasitic and to dip it in Lugol Solutions. Also told me to do it after lights out as the parasites come up from the base of the toadstool onto it. Has anyone had their leather toadstool do this and how did you correct this problem.

I had this poor guy die on me a few years back, he was shipped to me with this though, not sure if it is similar to what your guy has. It never did anything to other corals in the tank.
