View Full Version : Good or bad?
Hi everyone. I have a 75g FOWLR tank that I started in February. I was constant with water changes up until july, when I stopped. Since July, no water change has been done, and no problems have occurred. I'm noticing that in my sand there's hundreds of feather dusters and on the rocks these little bug things ( I think they're copepods) that are long and skinny but still extremely small. Are these things a good sign or bad? Thanks.

poor fish...swimming in ****...
poor fish? they seem happy, there's no algae..water is clear
copepods are good. Perhaps none of your fish eat them, but butterflys do. I Do 20% WC every two weeks some go a lot longer. Amount of rock, skimming, fuge etc.. factor in also.
i have a scooter blenny that i think eats them

The things swimming around are probably copepods - very beneficial and certainly a good sign. The appearance of copepods and lack of water changes are very likely unrelated.
Most all fish will eat them if given the chance. I think water changes are something that ultimately comes down to preference and if your regimen works then good job :D
