Hi all.

I'm currently building a small mushroom only nano tank (just adding a DIY internal sump) and I'm looking to create a cave effect.

I've got a section of 3d aquarium plastic background which I'm thinking of putting into the back of my tank. I was wondering if anyone has used them in a marine tank and if they are safe to be in there.

Many thanks
John M

Aren't most intended for use outside the tank? I would be leery if there is nothing on the package that specifically says its safe for the inside.

Thanks for the quick response. It's a 3d textured backgroud designed to go in the tank. I've seen them in freshwater tanks but but in marine tanks. I'll check the packaging when I get home.

All I have seen go outside the tank.

On decorations, kids wanted a Pirates of the Caribbean theme, when I asked around I was told to remove anything that was fake...

I wouldn't put one in there. You don't know the quality of the plastic and they don't look good / natural IMO

Many thanks for all your advice.

I've decided to leave it out of the tank.
I'll paint the outside of the back of the tank instead.
Why take the risk. Over time I'll build up a real rock wall.

Thanks all. :p :D
