I'm planning a 24" cube that will be an anem and clown tank. I can't decide if I should use an OM Super Squirt Compact(which I already have) with pump that does around 1000gph or 2 Tunze 6055 on a controller. What do you think would be best?

Use the OM. I run a super squirt + sequence dart on my 60 cube and it does the job! Also, with the Tunzes you always run the risk of an anemone milkshake!

isnt there just as much risk from the anemone getting trapped in the CL inlet?

My CL intakes are covered with sponge. Can a tunze be covered with sponge? I so the streams may be better .... lower electric bills and plumbing!

Hi,

HAve 3 Tunze and 2 nems, my malu does alot of walking around but never to near the tunze as the blast from them i think to so great the nem does'nt go too close, had them a few years now and the malu gets close and then move away when it start to fill the current.
Also the tunze have the inlets on one half of the cover and I always have the grills on the upside of towards the glass to stop bits getting in.

As for my malu it's huge and eats but likes walking.

Personally I'd go for the closed loop...I like the cleaner look, and they're easier to nem-proof than Tunze streams.

I would go with the OM since you already have it. Your tank will look cleaner without having the tunzes in there. But if you don't want to do all the plumbing for the OM then go with the tunze. I have a 20 high with a large sebae and he never goes near the tunze.

I think you run the risk of the nem getting too close to the intake in either case. The one thing that really concerns me with the closed loop is that as the aquarium matures I might need to change to the pattern and that will be much harder to do with CL. Any one have some opinions on that?

E.J.Coral do you have any pics of your tank? you are running a dart on a 60g, that is a ton of flow.
