I am looking to paint the inside of my stand white and I was told to use boat paint as a sealer.

Is this correct and is there any other paint like at home depot and such that will seal the stand just as good?

Thanks.

Why do you want to paint the inside? You will probably end up scraping it off when your scaping algea. Painting the back is easier and less risky.

So the Killz will stop moisture? Thanks.

RevHtree - I like the <a href="http://www.rustoleum.com/product.asp?frm_product_id=372&SBL=1" target="_blank">Topside Paint</a> from Rust-oleum which you can get at Home Depot.

If you really want the inside of your stand or canopy to be water proof use the two part epoxy paints, comes in white or you can get it in other colors. Use a paint brush to get in all the tight spots and the a short nap roller on the large areas. This will give a permanent water proof finish.

Marine paint is probably epoxy based. I think this is fairly toxic and not often sold anymore for other applications. The benifit is it is a great sealer and no water will get in. But if you can find epoxy paint elsewhere it would probably be cheaper and do the same thing.
