Aussie Acan

I finally broke down and ordered up some Aussie Acans, I couldn't resist anymore looking at the great colors on some of these vendior sites...Anyway, here's the pcitures of the ones I got(vendor picture). I'll post pics of them in my tank tomorrow when they come.

How much and where did you get it? Oh... and there is a company in NY... Aquatic Express... they have some pretty sick aussie acans at a reasonable price and they deliever too! You sould check them out.

Just to let everyone know, the acans came in looking great, they look exactly the same, colorwise and the size is pretty good. I paid 7 + polyps for $160 for the 1st one, and 8 + polyps for $130 for the second one. They are expensive, but, they are the most colorful and bright looking corals in my tank.

Nice pickup, Rutz! I've finally given in myself and picked up a few. Quite addicting!

capn_hylinur- The prices Rutz quoted are pretty typical for the States, although they are coming down slowly. Most vendors tend to chop these up, so a larger size colony is difficult to obtain. What about in Ontario? How much are these going for there? I saw a few nice ones on my last trip to TO, but didn't get the prices.

In our area these are probably the norm --go for 15 dollars a polyp. This site is local but run by June tank of the month Dave jelley.

I don't know if it is the same way from Canada but I have been told that you can't bring corals or fish back into Canada from the States.

I did hear you can't do it without hiding them.--that and American beer--now that sucks :)

I travel to Ontario two or three times every month. In fact, I have been to 250G's house and seen his setup, very cool setup for sure.


I'll make you a deal. I'll bring you up as much American beer as you want to trade you for Aussie Acans!:D Just name the kind you like! I drive right past Hamilton on the QEW everytime.

Maybe this is common in Canada, but, in the US, Ihave never seen Aussie's even close to that price. Or, US vendors are maring them up a lot more than their Canadian counterparts. Although, you have to take into consideration that Dave is more of a hobbyist than a vendor(I think, anyway). Either way, they are a great deal.

The place i get all mine from just started putting stuff up on Ebay, is you search "aussie acan" they will be the top ones left. there is only like 8 hours left on them, but ive seen all of them, and the pics are spot on under a 14 hamilton 250 halide. All i know is i paid alot more than these would likely go for. BTW i am in no way affilaiated with these guys, just thought i would mention it, caus the prices are really great.
