I am no plumber but aren't most houses using copper pipes in their plumbing? Wouldn't trace amounts of copper leach into your tap water . I have been using tap water in my FOWLR tank for 6 years. without a problem.
I have a biocube reef system for close to a year now . For that tank I use an AP tap water filter .
Should I concern myself with this or not!

Some people have had trouble with copper from their pipes. The city water has also been known to dump zinc into systems from time to time. I choose to use RO-DI for this reason.
