Here it is.... I am going to be adding the 18g Fuge the existing system. And plumbing in a 30g Frag Tank.....

Please any and all opinions are wanted.......

If I read it correct, I dont really like it.

I think you are taking a gamble with that many pumps moving water around the tanks. If that Rio in the 'fuge fails, the pump in the frag tank will continue to pump water...hello flood. I also think balancing the flow of all those pumps will be a nightmare. Not to mention that all those pumps are going to be a constant irritation to the electric bill.

I totally see what you are saying. What if I got rid of the Rio and directly plumbed the small fuge and the Sump together with bulk-heads and PVC.

Then I wouldn't need the pump at all.

I was also think about not connecting the smaller fuge at all. I can just have the Frag Tank overflow into the Sump. But on the other hand i'm not trying to increase flow in the Refugium.

The Frag Tank overflow is rated for 800gph. And the DT overflow is rated for 1000gph.

Any suggestions?

I think that if you thought it through, you could do it all via gravity and only need one return pump. I wouldn't put the po4 reactor(s) on the fuge, move them to the sump. And the UV should feed the skimmer compartment, not another fuge, otherwise the dead matter will just land on the bottom, rather than collected and removed by the skimmer. In all actuality, it's more complex than it needs to be and I don't see the benefit of an extra 18 gallon fuge, other than another place for crud to collect and force the system to process it.

The easiest setup would be a 30 gallon sump and a single 18 gallon fuge IMO.

You took a lot of time thinking about this didn't you ;)

Actually on the current setup the PO4 reactor is in the sump. And the UV does feed the refugium.

So I should have the UV Sterilizer feed the Skimmer compartment? That's where it feeds from. I can move the output of the UV to feed the Skimmer compartment.

If you suggesting one return.... how would I feed the Frag Tank?

Ohhh yeah... trying to find an excuse to add another sump/fuge.

Also it was fun drawing it out.

I would move the UV, as I mentioned it allows the skimmer a chance to remove the dead stuff before it lands in a place where the tank is forced to process it.

I didn't see a picture of the frag tank, so I didn't know how it fit into the system. You could T off you main return, or run a smaller pump for the frag tank.

why so many tanks?

too complex for what you are trying to do. Can be done easier. Check a few old threads here
