I have an 18" regular floures light over my fuge, which has sand, rock, and some chaeto. I believe it is 18 watts. The chaeto is still nice and green, but the bulb is real old. (I found the light in my attic, dont remember where it came from.) is this enough light, and if it is what kind of bulb should i use? Just basic replacemnt bulbs at LFS, but what parameters should i be looking at.

i wanted to let u know scuba that i was actually looking for a replacement bulb for a flour light i already have, 18inches, 18watts. It was on the fuge for a few weeks, but the bulb was real old and my chaeto didnt grow t all. I had already seen the link u sent me a while back, but seeing it again i said okay-i went out and bought a clamp on light fixture and a pc floodlight bulb. chaeto exploded. sucking nitrates out. awesome. thanx.
