Could be the bulb or balast or you may want to check the bulb connector first. Hopefully the bulb can be re-seated for a better connection, atleast starting here you can check the metal connector that the bulb sets in to make sure that is OK. I have seen several of these connectors fried on other lights but dont know about the orbits. On the other hand I have seen many balast go on current products. Anyhow I believe they carry a 1 year garantee and will take care of you.

once the bulb heats up it starts to flicker like a strobe light .. any suggestions as to what this could be ..

They sometimes need a few hours to run in. I would just leave it on and see what happens.

It's your bulb most likely but could be your ballast. What brand is your bulb and what brand is you ballast

If possible test the questional bulb on another fixture. Yours, a friend, etc...

Mine did that, strobed after warming up. I plugged a different ballast in.. same thing. I took the bulb out and found a small crack had developed after 6 months. I replacd the bulb.
