Dale Chihuly just keeps getting better and better. I'd love to have a macchia by him. Thanks for posting the beautiful photos. Nice work with lighting and exposures.

If you have Discovery HD and you haven't seen the show there, you should see it when it comes on again. It shows the blowing of the peices and assembly. Then takes you through a few of the shows, one in Italy, another in Ireland and a few others. He is really amazing!
Between the wif and me we took almost 1500 pics while there. This was great for us because the glass was intermingled with the plantings of the conservatory. This is the wif's hobby. So many orchids, bromilliads(sp), and cactus'. It was an extream treat!!!!

I saw a documentary on Dale Chihuly several years ago which showed him smashing a huge number of his Japanese-style fishing net float balls, and it made me want to scream. I wish he'd give me one instead of breaking it!

Very nice! The Franklin Conservatory in Columbus, OH, has many of his pieces there. His colors and details are simply amazing!

How did you get them to let you take pictures? When he had a show at the fine arts center they wouldn't let anyone take pics.

Great pics! And what a cool setting for the exhibit!

There was a show of Chihuly's work at the Akron Art Museum about 10 years ago. I took my kids (about 5 & 7 at the time) and they loved it as much as I did. Fascinating stuff.

Never came up. Everyone there had cameras.
