ich treatment

I have a hippo tang, two clowns, and a lawnmower going into a 60gal for 6 wks treament for ich.

1. would you do hypo and copper in qt or just one or the other? which one?
2. if i just took sponge filter out of sump, how long does the qt need to cycle? do i need to kick off the cycle in the qt witha dead shrimp?
3. how long should sponge filter be in sump before moving to qt?

1. I would do both. Also a fresh water dip before the hospital tank is good.
2. I wouldn't worry about the shrimp.
3. atleast a week or so

1. I wouldn't do both at the same time. Both are stressful on the fish. I'd probably just do hyposalinity.

2. Probably not long. I'd use a bit of fish food to test the filter and ramp up bacteria.

3. Preferably a 3-4 weeks or so, I think. A week might be fine. Nitrifying bacteria are fairly easy to produce.
