Hey all,
I just got my first Ca. Reactor and I'm still making fine adjustments (thanks to everyone who helped me out with that). I'm starting this thread b/c I want to hear peoples' experiences with pH fluxuations during the day with and without a Ca. Reactor.

My pH swing from night to day prior to the reactor was:
7.8 to 8.3 (respectively)
And with the reactor from night to day it's now:
8.01-8.1 (respectively)

Are these typical results? If anything I would've thought the reactor would've increased the pH swing from night to day instead of decreasing it.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Mine dropped overall to about 7.8 - 8.0 day to night. I installed kalk as well and now I stay 8.1 - 8.3.

So your pH went up at night after installing the reactor? Perhaps your alk was really low, hence the low pH before. Obviously your alk is much higher now with the reactor. Your pH sounds pretty stable so I wouldn't worry about it. You could drip kalk at night to keep your pH up if it ever drops lower or put your co2 solenoid on a timer and have it shut off at night, this is what I do.
