Ok I'm about to place another order for my esv b-ionic 2 part system. And I've read that magnesium is needed to maintain calcium and alk levels.

I've tried looking for test kits but can't find any online, especially salifert.

I tested my water today and I've got calcium levels of 450ppm and a 7.8dk.

Magnesium will eventually drop, you will need some supplementation to maintain it at the 1300 ppm level.

would the esv magnesium be good or should i be looking at something else?

ESV magnesium is fine. You'll also need a test kit. Sometimes, water changes can keep up with magnesium demand, depending on the salt product.

hey bertoni I usually get my water from our local aquarium do you think i still need to buy magnesium?

how fast does magnesium deplete? I'll probably use this as a gauge on how often I should do water changes. I can't find any online dealer that sells mag test kits. the saliferts are all out and have no luck finding other manufactures. it would be great if anyone can point me to a online shop that sells them

I get test kits from PremiumAquatics.com and MarineDepot.com.

Magnesium consumption varies a lot from tank to tank. Also, some salt products, like IO, are low in magnesium.
