Would anyone with experience building plywood tanks be willing to give me some guidance planning my tank?

I am planning on a tank that is 48"x36"x30" deep with two adjacent viewable sides. I would really like it if the corner between the two glass pieces had no trim. not sure if it is possible or not.

PM me and we can throw some ideas around.

Thanks in advance.

I think what you're asking can be done but the glass seam in that case will be taking all the pressure rather then a plywood corner. Because of that, you should use the same thickness of glass as it if were an all glass tank. For those dimensions I would recommend 1/2" at a minimum and you may need to ensure you have good bracing in that corner. 3/4" glass would probably be overkill but it would give you peace of mind.

My tank is almost the same dimensions, 48 x 32 x 24 and I've got to tell you, I wouldn't want it any higher. To each his own but unless you have access to the tank around the whole perimeter, it will be difficult to reach into every spot of the tank. Trust me, you will want to be able to. With rock in the tank, I can't reach the bottom of the front glass from the back of the tank. I'm so glad I planned for front access since my tank is in wall.

I have two viewable sides but used the plywood as my structural corner so I was able to get away with 3/8" glass.
