I was wondering on some opinions of adding fish. I currently have:
2 percula clowns
2 bangaii cardinals
Orange Spot Goby
Scribbled rabbitfish
Desjardini Sailfin tang

For the record i have a 180g tank 48x36x24. There is plenty of swimming room in the tank. I was wondering if I could add an orange shoulder and naso tang... I have an asm g3 skimmer if that is important. Ive heard 6ft tank for both fish but theres not a lot of rock so they could have lots of room to swim.

Do they swim back and forth or can they swim around the rock? and bump :)

While you have the tank volume you do not have the tank length to house them.

With two pretty large fish in there, despite the "large" volume, capacity is still VERY limited. I would not house a Naso (lituratus) in this situation, and adding an Acanthurus spp. to a tank already containing a Tang is not the best situation. While 180g seems large, it's really not, in fact, in terms of the size and behavior of the fish you're considering, it's quite small. I've a 450 and I still would add the species you suggest. Naso and Sailfin, yes, and possibly a very peaceful other Tang (Hippo, Tomini, Kole's, Convict), but that's in a tank more than twice the size of a 180.

Don't believe them, they will be fine if your sailfin isn't mean. These have been in my 210 with no problems for years

Your 210 is most likely 6ft long which makes it more of a suitable environment for those tangs rather then his 180 4ft tank. A naso imo needs even a bigger home then a 210 they can make even the biggest tanks look small. Even though most tangs need a 6ft i think yo could house tangs in your tank just not the ones mention.

YMMV, your PBT is certainly MOST atypical if it's not tearing at teh other Acanthurids in the tank. Recommendations and cautions concerning certain species exist for reasons. There are, of course, always exceptions to rules as all fish are individuals, and all tanks are different. The point in the advice I gave above is to make the original poster aware that the risk he/she would be taking is fairly high. "Don't listen" is really an option left to the poster, and not a choice I'd be comfortable making for, or exclaiming upon, anyone. ;)

Good thing I read this thread threw because I didn't notice till I read it twice that the tank in question is only 48" long. That is much too small for any tang other than maybe a bristle tooth.

When it comes to keeping tangs go 6' feet or go home.

Is there any other tang you think I could add? Maybe yellow or purple?

Anyone have any ideas on a tang to add?

A 4ft tank is a horrible tank for any tang. Most people won't listen to that advice. With that said when you do buy one, and you will because as I said most people refuse to accept that a 4ft tank is too small. Buy the SMALLEST one you can get even if that means online ordering it. Putting 2 Zebrasomas in is most likely going to result in a battle if they are not introduced at the same time and one has established his territory. The only SLIGHT chance of getting away with it is to find a tiny size one to put in so that there is not much threat to the existing one.
