I bought 3 bags of Caribsea's "Aragamax" sand a couple of months back, and was very happy with it. Consistent grain size, and not much that had to be washed out. By that I don't mean that I could wash it clean...I wouldn't expect that with such a fine-grained sand.
Satisfied, I bought 3 more bags. Unlike the first batch, I had to wash this batch multiple times to remove all the little pieces of what looked like tree roots and other pieces of wood that floated to the top of my wash bucket. The grain size was completely inconsistent, and the majority of it looked more like their "Reef Grade" sand.
I did check the bags to make sure that they hadn't been opened and re-sealed with something that I hadn't ordered.
I was even less happy when I found a 3" x 2" x 2" chunk of rock in the second bag....
