I think you use the serial cord. I am in the same boat as you but the cord they sent to me does not hook up to my laptop. I am in search of an adapter or something that will make it work. Any suggestions??

chris this is the adapter you want... You can probably find a cheap knock off on ebay for 10 bucks or so...

I'm thinking of doing mine wireless.

here's the link- http://www.iogear.com/main.php?loc=product&Item=GBS301

ebay has them for around 70 shipped. Range goes to 300+ feet. So you can leave the dongle hooked up to the ac unit and access the logs anytime without hooking up cables.

buy.com has them for 63.99 + free shipping and if you sign up to use the google checkout you get $10 off so it's 53.99 shipped.

Mlivvy,

As soon as i saw the posts for the adapter I started to search at ebay and then at Office Depot, then you come out with that. No I amnot sure what I want to do.

One question, after you hook your computer up to the AC, are you only downloading info or can you also program it easier here instead of fumbling through all those screens on the unit?

chris I don't know yet. my acjr is still sitting in the box. i'll probably know the thing inside and out in the following week when I start messing with it. i think only the ac3 can be programmed from the pc but I may be wrong. i'll research it tonight when I get home from work.

keep in mind that dongle is bluetooth so you need bluetooth on your laptop/pc.

blue tooth, I will have to figure out. I bought an adapter today. I had a $20 gift certificate and I got it for $29 at Office Depot. So it really only cost about $10. I will try later to mess with it.

mlivvy, I just ran Aqua Notes on the computer. It is sooooooooooo much easier to program it on the computer than to thumb through the AC menus. Let me know if you want me to help you program yours.

Please check these two items; one or both is probably the problem:

- On the config tab of the Database->Tank Database window make sure that record datalog is checked.
- On the same window make sure that the Serial # field matches the AquaController serial number. The AquaController serial number can be found on the AquaController's self test screen.

When these are set correctly perform a Database->retrieve datalogs; when complete you should have data in the database.
