Hi all

Over night one of my feather dusters has completly vanished without trace.

Can they move? or is it likely that something has taken it hostage - a nasty hitch hiker?

this morning there was no evidence of it ever being there.

Cheers
John M

Here are 2 pictures.
The first picture taken yesterday shows 5 dusters
The second picture taken today only shows 4
The mushrooms look a little odd as they are still waking up from the light being turned on.

Interesting, maybe it fell off and landed under something? I can't think of much that eats the tube too.

Maybe your emeral crabs decided to tear it up somewhere? just a wild guess

Hogfish77- I certainly havent seen any crabs in the tank yet.

Hmmm a further development.

This morning I got up to find that another duster had dissapeared, I eventually found it bent in 2 and crammed way down in a hole in the live rock.

As far as I can see there are 2 possiblities:
1) The mushroom moved it's self and squeezed it's self right down into the whole
2) something has dragged it down there.

Any ideas?

As a precaution I've moved all my feather dusters into the sump.

That is bizarre!
I would check the water params to verify there is nothing wrong in the tank. They can move in search of a more suitable environment.

ok thanks I will check the water to see if anything is up.

I'll also see if they do any moving in the sump.

Sabellids can and will move either to avoid predators or to find a location that better suit their requirements.
