i know tanks bow if you take off the center brace to make a rim less effect how about on a ten gallon beacuse there is not brace in the middle ???

That's a good question. I've never tried it or heard any definite opinions. I would risk an educated guess and say it would probably work. I really would be surprised if the cheapy plastic rim on a 10g offers much in the way of support compared to the silicon. I'd bet it's more there to keep them from having to finish the edge of the glass plus because it's just a "standard" and people expect it to be there.

Part of what I'm basing this on is that I have a finnex rimless 8g tank. The front has bent glass (so no seam) but the back has a seam and it's just like having a 10g without a rim.

Again this is a guess, I'd be really careful with it, 10 gallons of water and fish on the floor is no fun for anybody :D

I had a 10 gallon a few years ago with out the trim and it was ok for a year or so.
