Hello first timer post here! What a great site you guys have put together.

I have been in the hobby for about a year now and have successfully kept my 55 g sumpless Salty setup running with no flaws so far. I am in the middle of upgrading from my 55g to a 75g with a DIY 20g long sump. I will run an ASM G-1 skimmer. My question is, what is the required depth of water in my sump, to run these skimmers at optimal performance? I was planning on 5-6'' of water for it to sit in. IYO, would this suffice??

Thank you in advance! Brad

I ran a g1x in a 20 gallon long as a sump for 2 years. I would run it between 6-8 inches. 5 might be a little low.
