A friend of mine is putting a 300 gallon custom tank in-wall and is trying to figure out which lighting setup would be better for him. His tank is somewhat tall at 31" and 96 L x 24 W. He is wanting to keep a mixed reef with mostly softy corals. What do you think?? T5 is what I am suggesting because he is wanting to keep clams but I am unsure of the depth that T5 will penetrate to. Thanks for any help!

I'm setting up a 450 gallon and using three 450 watt MH lights (96" x 36" x 30"). I'm not planning to keep SPS in there, but definately softies.

Thought about using MH 400 watt lighting but was afraid it would be too intense for a softy setup.

Does anyone have any more thoughts or advice? TIA!!
