Is there any type of livestock in the tank? How cloudy are we talking? Can you see 6" into the tank, 12" or how much?

Normally the cloudiness does not effect fish, but it might irritate corals a bit.

You have a long hard road ahead of you if you are getting impatient with things already :D

Run your skimmer, set it so it pulls a very wet foam, it will help some. otherwise.. you do as stated.. wait.

so true. you know the funny thing is my skimmer isnt pulling anythingout at all. maybe because theres no bacteria in it yet? but i thought it would pull alot of that cloud from the sand out but i guess not. i have a ETTS rated for a 300 gal. ( i have a 117 g)
is that normal? i have only one adjustment on my skimmer, a knob which controls the hieght of water in the larger tube going up to the cup. is there more to this skimmer?

a filter sock will clear it up a little faster, but I agree that it is time to learn patience or you are doomed in this hobby.
