I went out to MD this weekend to see a friend get married. We stuck around monday to check out the NAiB. It was well worth it. I didnt get a lot of good pics of the FW set ups beause of the lack of lighting. Even my Reef/SW pics didnt come out as good as normal, but I figured Id share them anyway.

This was a neat section of tanks.

This was supposed to be like a rivers mouth. It was set up fresh to start a series.

The brackish one showing the shore line marshs.

Then they had the beach next.

Then the reef shelf fishes.

Lastly, they had a display of fish from the kelp beds.

They had two reef tanks, but I dont have all the pics uploaded yet.

Here are some pics of the first reef. They had some awesome tangs in there.

Ive got some more detailed pics at home. Ill get them up later. I was actually really impressed with the 'scape and coral placement. This was one of hte best places Ive ever visited as far as that goes. This was shown throughout all of their displays (SW, FW, and vivarium).

This was the more compex reef, and it had way less fish. Again, Im very impressed with the 'scape and over all display. It doesnt quite compare to the one at SW, but cooler than naything at Ripleys

Their big tank was totally impressive. Ive never seen a display so big that wasnt dominated by sharks. They had their sharks in two other tanks.

You could wal around the top of it. It was in a U shape, and you could walk around the outside, or the inside.

It was dark in there, and not many pics turned out. I have to share this one of a HUGE puffer. I cant belivfe people keep these in tanks. Ive seen the in 55s before

They had a couple sets of specialty tanks as well. The coolest stuff was in the dark water tanks. Here is one of them :D

The coolest single animal we saw was a massive octo, that actually crawled across the tank, then returned to its corner by walking right across the front glass. Only one pic kind of turned out, but I got video!!
